Hello Sir, Thanks for your reply & thank you for welcoming me to the forums.BrianCee wrote:Welcome to the Forums
We like to think we are good but we are not yet miracle workers - please give us a lot more information, What are you capturing from , (what sort of video from what device) using what equipment, what cables/connections are involved in the capture process, what settings are you using in VideoStudio
With the video in your timeline please RIGHT click on it and choose 'properties' from the dialogue box - copy all those properties and post them here.
Please read this topic http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=29738 and supply the information asked for there - then we may well be able to help you.
Hi, sorry for not mentioning all othr hardware. Yes, i stated in my post that the recorded footage is stored on the Hitachi Digital TV recorder HDD.trevor andrew wrote:Hi zoomzoom
To keep things tidy--I have removed the duplicate post.
Did you read the post/link provided by Brian???????
What version of Video Studio are you using?
I do not have a Hitachi TV recorder (what model is it?) but would assume it saves the recorded video to its hard drive.
Is it not possible to connect the recorder via usb effectively using the recorders hard drive as a removable drive on the pc. You would then transfer the files in the same manner as image files.
Are you able to play the captured video with audio on Windows Media Player.
Check the computers volume controls for the correct recording options.
If you are limited to Composite /Scart connections then check your capture card, some require a link to connect the cards Audio to PC Line-In, this link may be internal or external. Provide details of the capture card?
BrianCee wrote:Ok so you have a fairly standard UK lead with the scart plug on one end and yellow, red and white phonos (RCA) on the far end that you have plugged into a card on your PC. The properties of your clip suggest to me there is something wrong with the audio properties - it is showing a number of samples but no layer or bit rate so we need to get to the bottom of that, Did you hear any sound when you were transferring at all, have you tried plugging another audio device (mp3 player/CD player etc.) direct into the red and white phonos and seeing if you can hear that on your PC speakers and record it using windows sound recorder or any other sound recording software you may have.
Then I would capture with WMM then import the clips into VS. Many on this forum use another program to capture.Works fine with WMM and Cyberlink software.
