VS Pro X2 - DVD Burning Issue
At the beginning of the DVD burning process, the progress bars show an operation: "Converting Video of the Title" which takes an extremely long time to complete. This only started happening recently. I cannot find any settings that address this issue. If I burn DVD's from projects I created a while ago, I do not see this step occurring. I am at a loss as to why this is occurring and is making the DVD burning feature basically unusable. Any ideas?

Re: VS Pro X2 - DVD Burning Issue
Welcome to the forums,
That message indicates that it is recoding your entire movie clip. In the burn module, movie clips are referred to as Titles. Why it's doing this is hard to say without providing more information on your workflow, (Share>Create Video File, vs Share>Create Disc), properties of your video files (right-click on one of them in VS, select properties and post them here). In the burn module, check the Project Settings to see if you have checked, Do not convert compliant MPEG files. If that is checked, AND you're using DVD Compliant MPEG files, the program should not render your entire clip(s), which would take some time. Also if you're jumping straight into the burn module from the editor (Share>Create Disc), using your project file (VSP), then VS will have to first create temporary DVD Compliant MPEG-2 video files so it can then create the VOB files and finally burn those to disc.
Now with all that said, if you're working with AVCHD, that's a little different, and I'm not versed in those yet. Ken or Trevor will be able to help you with that..

Re: VS Pro X2 - DVD Burning Issue
Even if you were working with AVCHD or HDV, much the same considerations apply. If you want to burn a DVD using video in those formats, they must first be converted to DVD-compatible mpeg-2. And that will happen in the burning module as part of the burning process if you have not done it separately already in the editing module (Share > Create Video File > DVD). Moreover, the conversion process for AVCHD in particular, but also HDV, is quite long, whether it is done in the editing module or part of the burning process...
