Re: Corel Project - cannot see folder
No - as part of the download of PSP X3 I received a copy of Corel's "Project" software that allows you to create note cards, calendars, slide shows etc. After you choose the format you wish to use you then you can select the pictures you want ..... by clicking on the folder etc.sjj1805 wrote:Do you mean Corel Paint Shop Pro X3?
However it shows "my Documents" folder but when you click on it it does not open to show you the sub folders below it.

Re: Corel Project - cannot see folder
Well you're both correct..
Project Creator is included with PSPP X3. With the ESD (download) version you do not get the option of uninstalling it separately from PSPP, the disc (boxed) version does allow this. Most of the well-experienced PSPP users really don't like this program, and that goes for me as well. However I did fire it up on both my Vista and XP machines. I don't have any problems accessing my photos.
In the select photos screen, you should see a directory tree on the left. With WinXP, since the My Pictures folder is located inside the My Documents folder you need to expand the My Documents folder. Do this by clicking on the arrow beside it, mine does not have +. The tree should expand, and the arrow should now face down, instead of sideways pointing at the folder. You should now see all the sub-folders, including the My Pictures. If you have folders inside it, there should be an arrow to click to expand it.
You can single-click on the arrow, or you must double-click on the folder to expand. Also be aware that the program runs very sluggishly on my WinXP machine, so don't get in a hurry and expect the program to respond immediately. Doing so could cause it to hang..
Also since this is a part of PSPP X3, the topic is being relocated to that forum..

Many thanks for your input .... but I did exactly as you said ... tried clicking on the arrow... and also tried clicking and double clicking on the My Documents folder. Neither worked even after waiting minutes. It's just like it does not recognize anthing folders below My Documnets.

Re: Corel Project - cannot see folder
Hello Gord Bullied,
I'm Abiel from the Corel Support. If you cannot see the folder on the left side of your PSP Project Creator, please follow these steps.
1. Close Corel PaintShop Photo Project Creator.
2. Launch Window Task Manager; to open Windows Task Manager, right-click an empty space on the taskbar, and then click Task Manager.
3. In the Windows Task Manager, go to Processes tab.
4. In the Processes tab, make sure that the following Processes are not running on your computer:
- MetadataMgr.exe
- MLEMonitor.exe
- RtDevDetector.exe
5. If any of the above are still running on your system, right-click on each Processes and select End Process or End Process Tree.
6. After making sure that the above processes are no longer running, go to taskbar and click on START >> RUN;
7. In the RUN window, type: %appdata%
8. Hit the enter key to open the Application Data folder.
9. Double-click on Corel folder and then double-click on Digital Studio folder.
10. Delete all the files and folders inside this "Digital Studio" folder.
11. Close this folder and re-launch PaintShop Photo Project Creator.
Hope that helps.

Re: Corel Project - cannot see folder
Just hit Ctrl+Shift+Esc and the Task manager will come right up.
Otherwise hit Ctrl+alt+Delete and it should pop-up or you will have to select Task Manager from the screen that pops-up. I haven't used XP in years so I don't recall exactly what happens with Ctrl + Alt + Delete anymore.
You can also go to your Run command (Win + R) and type in Taskmgr

Re: Corel Project - cannot see folder
Have you checked to make sure the My Pictures folder's attributes are not set to Hidden? You do this in Windows Explorer, right-clicking on the My Pictures Folder and selecting Properties. That's the only way I can replicate the program not seeing a folder or it's contents. You might also check to see if the Read only attribute is set for that folder and sub-folders. If so clear the check mark.
