Is it possible to have two individual Video Studio Pro X3 projects and then join them more or less automatically?
(As opposed to taking each clip inserting it manually)

You can insert one project full of clips into another project full of clips. It's call nesting. Use the Insert command.

You mean Insert as video?
Yeah, that doesn't work if you are inserting a VSP which has inserts in it as well.

Re: Can you join projects
That is correct, you cannot nest a VSP that already has a nested VSP in it. In that case you would have to do an intermediate render. In other words, you have VSP-1 nested into VSP-2. You then want to nest VSP-2 into VSP-3. Can't do it. So render VSP-1 into a video file and then add it as a clip into VSP-2. You will then be allowed to nest VSP-2 into VSP-3.
Clear as mud.

Nesting
Hi
When you use the nesting process, the VSP being added although containing many individual clips will be represented by a single thumbnail.
It is not advisable to further edit the added VSP.
I do not use the nesting process but prefer to complete the project by creating a video file, then adding the video file.
The advice is to take care when nesting.
