burning to dvd

burning to dvd

i can creat a movie using video studio express 2010 but when i burn to dvd it shows capacity available 4.4gb, yet cannot burn a movie of 1.8gb.
message says not enuff space on drive.
is there anything i can chaange in settings to burn longer movie?

YOur movie of 1.8gb, what format is it?
If it's a highly compressed format, such as divx, by the time you have made this into an mpeg2 it may well be over the 4.7gb capacity of a dvd.
How long in time is your movie?
