Help -Ulead Video Studio 9(can not install)

Post by otto »

Can anyone help me with my problem? I just purchased the Ulead Video Studio9 at a retailer store yesterday (May 22,2005) and when I tried to install it wont let me, kept giving me this crc error and some rmbe 3260.dll does not match (sorry do not remember what the error message says) but I vividly remember that it says I have to contact the software vendor...so anyone can help me resolve the problem, truly appreciate it. I sent Ulead Customer support twice already, and planning to call them to today...so please help me thanks....

Sincerely,
Otto

I had trouble with a PC some months ago, It ran OK but when I tried to install anything it just gave up, (and I mean anything).

It might sound daft but I was told to try changing the memory stick. It worked don't know why.

A lot of install problems, I find, are solved by shutting down the startup programs. 'Start' 'Run' type in 'msconfig'. Do 'Selective Startup' disable 'Load Startup Items' 'Apply' and Ok' and restart the computer.

If you are getting CRC's then your install process is not copying information to your Hard Drive properly. The missing DLL is probably the file tha got damaged during the copy process.

Go here to find CRC Error Types, important in diagnosing what is wrong.

I would say you have either overclocked your machine too much, and your memory is creating too many error faults from stress, or if not overclocking, you still have a memory problem.

As Higgins 2 describes a memory stick may well be bad. Here is how to check if your memory stick(s) are bad.

Go to the following Web site and download the Memtest program for your computer type; follow instructions to create a floppy, and then test the memory sticks.

Warning, one pass can take hours, two passes is better. If you get more than 2 or 3 errors, or faults, you need to replace your memory. Or stop overclocking.

Read all instructions concerning MemTest very carefully, this program works great.

If you find your memory tests good without Error, then you may be facing a drive problem, bad Sector, dirty heads, bad cables, drives getting too hot, etc. This problem can also include CD\DVD Rom drives, and external drives as well.
