Problem is during capture ,moving or panned images have a horizontal banding like a venetian blind. This effect is not noticeable capturing with Windows movie maker.I have tried another PC,another firewire card and cable .Same result.Any ideas please.

How is the output to a TV? You'll notice venetian blinds on a VGA monitor - interlaced video - that you won't see on a TV.
If the "stair steps" are vastly bad and there is pronounced flashing, it could be the wrong field first.
BTW, if you want to use DV video for the web, just deinterlace the final out put.

Horizontal Banding
I'm having a similar problem with horizontal banding, but it's on my final output to DVD. The banding/stairstepping is very bad when viewing the DVD on TV.
I've been using Video Studio 8 for a few months, but this problem just started to show up.
The problem does not occur throughout the whole DVD. It's only in places where I've used a logo graphic that I created in Photoshop, or in flash animations that I rendered to AVI.
These graphics/animations have rendered perfectly up until the last few days.
Any ideas?

Re: Horizontal Banding
It is probably the resolution of the graphics. They should be the same as the system, NTSC or PAL.agentsmith wrote: Any ideas?

Horizontal Banding
I found the problem: I had RESAMPLING QUALITY set to Good instead of Best. When I reset it to Best, the problem disappeared.
Thanks
