I have installed VisualStudio Pro X3 on my system, and except for 2 menu items (2 Edit and 3 Share) on the top line, there is no other text or buttons displayed on the UI. For example, I can hover over the 1 Capture and see the tooltip, but it's a black space. Same on the preview window, the play and other buttons don't show. Nothing displayed (lock...) on the timeline etc. Support told me to uninstall and re-install which I have done, and have also re-downloaded the EXE and re-installed completely. I still have Pro X2 and that one works fine. PaintShop Pro X3 is fine...
Windows Vista Ultimate SP2, 3gb RAM, Nvidia GEForce...

Re: Missing UI elements - VS Pro X3
If you haven't recently updated your Direct X drivers, please go HERE and download the latest version of the DirectX End User Runtimes. The most current release is dated June 2010. The file is quite large, around 95 MB. Before you run the file, first create a temp folder to extract the contents of that file into. I just call the folder for example June 2010 DirectX. When you run the downloaded file it will extract 100+ files, so you will want to have a separate folder for them, and once you're finished you can delete this folder and all those files. Once the files are extracted, look for a file called DXSETUP.exe in that folder, and run it. That will update your DirectX drivers.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have downloaded the DirectX component you mentioned and installed. Told me everything was ok. I just started VS X3 Pro, and still get the same problem. Any DirectX configuration I should make? I did not re-install the software (nor do I really want to...) after DirectX upgrade.

Re: Missing UI elements - VS Pro X3
Don't know what model of Nvidia you have installed, but try going to their website and checking for updates/patches for your model. This type of problem generally has been attributed to Windows 7, and not Vista or XP. It's not a bug in the program, as I run VS X3 on Vista HP, and WinXP HP, and have never had the problem with missing buttons in the UI.

Thanks Ron,
I went on the HP site, and looked for updated video drivers. I installed an update from 2009 (my computer was built 2008), and it resolved the problem. I can now start learning the new features
