Hi;
I just upgraded from DVD Mobie factory 2 to #6.I really loved version 2 but I bought a Samsung HD video camera and upgraded to Dvd Moviefactory 6.
Unfortunately, DVD Moviefactory does not recognize the files on my camcorder. I loved version 2 so much that I just bought version 6 without testing it. Can anyone help?

DVDMF6 is not seeing my Samsung HD camcorder's files
Re: DVDMF6 is not seeing my Samsung HD camcorder's files
You just bought MF6? ... MF7 has been available for awhile (I'm not saying it would work any better with your camera.)
What format are the files from your camera?
What kind of output are you looking for? Regular DVD?, Blu-Ray?
You can probably convert your files to a different format with a program like SUPER (FREE!!!). SUPER can can convert to/from many different HD & SD formats. If you're making a regular standard definition DVD, SUPER can convert most formats to DVD-compatible MPEG-2* or you can convert to DV/AVI (standard definition) which is the most trouble-free format.
I'll bet you'll never do that again!
* If you convert to one of these formats with a 3rd-party program, there are lots of variations/options. So, copy the settings (framerate, resolution, etc.) from your Movie Factory Project Settings to make sure you're making a DVD-compatible file.

Re: DVDMF6 is not seeing my Samsung HD camcorder's files
Hi;
well, version 2 worked so perfectly (with my old DV camera) that I took a chance on version 6. I will take your advice and try the demo of version7. I also don't want to bother with the extra step of converting before I edit, I also usually do my filming in 480p.
But, if things werent frustrating now and then, they would not be as much fun. For example I spent a week tearing appart my scooter as it had stopped working. It turned out that some idiot (me) didn't check the kill switch (D'oh).

But you still haven't said what format your camcorder produces. Perhaps if you gave us the exact model of the Samsung, someone might be able to make a more detailed suggestion.
