Are you trying to "Crop", or trying to "Zoom"? To me, "Crop" means to just get rid of the cropped out sections -- leaving the rest unchanged. Of course, if you crop and scale, then you might get a zooming effect.
For "Zoom", you can apply a 2D Moving Path to your video. Just make sure you have the start and end key frame set to the same numbers. Or you could make it zoom in and out by using different numbers and adding multiple key frames (within the 2D Moving Path).

Yeah but its just a zoom filter? Im not too good with ulead yet, like it just zooms. I dont want it to be moving to the screen I wont it to be stuck looking like that for the whole duriation of it being on school no movinf or anything. My msn is smokeyandi@hotmail.com, if you have that you can add me now Im online and we can talk easyer about it there. thanks heaps george.
Make sure the Start and End key frames have the same values, then the picture won't zoom during playback. Click the diamond at the beginning of the sequence, make sure those values are in the diamond at the end of the sequence. In MSP7, you can right-click copy/paste those attributes at the diamonds (key frames), I don't know if you can copy/paste those values in versions under MSP7.

Don't worry, once you get this working, it will open up a whole bunch of new options for your video editing.
I am away from my video machine, so this is from memory (which is not what it used to be)
When you add the 2D Moving Path, a popup window appears. Notice underneath the little square with your video in it, that there is a timeline. And there is a diamond at the beginnig and end of this timeline. Click on the first diamond, and change the dimensions of your picture. Make note of the values below (they are X/Y coordinates and such). Then click on the diamond at the end of the timeline, and make sure it has the same values as the start diamond.
Let us know if you can't get it working, maybe someone at their video machine can help by posting a picture (or explain it better than me).

That's great!
Now you can even do Picture-in-Pictures using a small version on V2 overlaying stuff on V1 or Va/Vb.
And you can make things pan/zoom using key frames along that timeline in the moving path window -- you just add more diamonds by clicking on the plus sign (delete with minus sign).
Have Fun!

Hi,
Here is a wide angle shot similar to yours.
Apply a 2d motion to the clip.

I went to the end of the clip and made my adjustments to the size keeping the aspect ratio, and copying the *keyframe*.

Then select the first keyframe and paste. It will paste the attributes of the copied keyframe.

It should then be a zoomed in, static shot.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the pictures (I was going from memory)
As mentioned in one of my earlier posts, I'm not sure the copy/paste of the key frames is available in MSP 6.5 (I think it was introduced in MSP 7 -- but just can't say for certain).
Anyway, it's good to have the visual

Hi guys, you are really over complicating this one. All you do is right click footage and pick video filters then cropping. Go into the cropping menu and pick an amount, say 70%. Make sure border (I think - it's the tick box with a colour) isn't ticked and MSPro will fill the frame with 70% of the image. make sure you set the same size for the beginning and end of the footage or it will zoom in or out.
That's it.
That's it.
