Windows Moviemaker 6 has film effects

Post by mangurian »

MM6 will run under windows xp,V,and 7.

It has some old film effects I really like.

The "oldest Film" effect is really neat.

Looks like an 1900-1920 video.

VS has had an 'old film' filter since at least VS 7, which is when I started using it first... And it's customisable...

Hiya guys & Ron & Ken

Thanks for the tips on copying the files across - which worked just fine.

However - yes, always an however, the applications are stamped with a Digi Image when used.
When I explore further its states that this product is only licensed for Pro X2, which is what, I think, one of you was saying in a previous posting.

Is there a way around this please, apart from having to re-install PRO X2 on another drive or even another PC ? (Which probably won't work properly under Win7 which is why I upgraded to X3 in the first place)
Having already paid full price for PRO X2 it seems quite diabolical that the upgrade does not carry the same good and workingfeatures as its predecessor.
I hear the arguments that PRO X3 now has this new "super" PIP feature but hang on I am paying for that by buying PRO X3.

How are good features of an earlier release suddenly unlicensed just because I have the latest software. I have already paid for it but no can't use it!

Sorry, I hope you know that this rant is not aimed at you guys, but if you have a fix around my dilemma then I would welcome any suggestions or tips.
Thanks
Paul

I had the same trouble, and I asked directly NewBlue customer service.
They provided the Film Look effects for free... but maybe also because I bought some other effects from them...
Yet, you can still try.

Btw, I remember that I also posted this issue in the past but then somebody told that he managed to copy the Film Look effects from X2 to X3 and use them... you may want to surf the forum and look for this post (I do not remember if it was me who started it).

By Digimarc are you referring to a watermark placed on a trial product? If so, there is one fix, purchase it...;)

With respect I have already purchased it in PRO X2.
So you are saying pay for it a second time?
Sounds like a good deal!

No, it was a promotional item that was included with X2 in the hopes you would like it and purchase more from NewBlue. In an effort to expose X2 users to more of their product they include different promotional items in X3.

I'm still curious about this Digimarc you're referring to. I've copied all those files from my VS X2 to my VS X3, and ran a test clip applying one of the NB Film FX filters, and I don't get any such Digimarc.

I know with some Trial versions of various effects and plug-ins, they will place a watermark, which is removed once you purchase it. Also I will point out my thread warning about installing New Blue FX's Trials. The only way to remove the trial from VS is to completely re-install VS..

I have also just tested the filter in X3 as transferred from X2 in the way Ron suggested. And both in the preview screen and after rendering out the project to which the filter was applied and adjusted, there is no Digimarc/watermark in the finished product...

Okay guys - appreciate the feedback. Thanks

I will re-install X2 and try again and will get back to you further in the next few days with my results.

Fingers crossed.
