Crashing partially solved...can you help with the rest? Thx!

Hi!

VideoStudio ProX3 originally crashed constantly -- then I turned on Smart Proxy, and that solved most of the problem.

However, it still tends to crash at at the point where a video is split or when one clip meets another, particularly (about 75% of the time) when rendering.

Do you have any suggestions that might prevent this or is a patch being worked on? I've seen lots of descriptions of this program as "crash happy."

Other than this, I am very, very pleased and would love to buy if I could resolve the crash-at-splits-during-rendering issue.

Thanks so much for your thoughts!

Oh, I ought to add that I downloaded the trial a few nights ago, so I'm not sure if it includes Service Pack 1 that says it "enhanced stability, performance and bug fixes."

Apologies for the many additions -- I should also add that I'm rendering the MPG4 HD option, if that is helpful info. The original file is an MOV 1920 x 1080 and approx. 15kbps (can't recall exact figure).

Thanks again.

I talked to support today, and they suggested that I replace my current QuickTime with version 7.6. Has anyone tried this? I read a post elsewhere where it didn't help with crashes at transitions. Also, does anyone know if this will make my iTunes not work? Apple "didn't think so," but I thought I'd check to see if anyone has actually tried it.

Any thoughts on solving crashes would be so helpful.

Thanks!
