X2 Capture images into Library

Post by wa3vez »

I have updated Video Studio to 1, 2 and Microsoft X. My current version is 12.0.106.1. When I load a series of images some of thumbnails are just black. In my source foulder they are all OK. I delete and try again and others come up black. All of the pictures are standard .jpg. When I check the properties of the correct images they have 'Camera Information' and 'IPTC/NAA' property catagories. The black thumbnails do not have these catagories at all. I am using Windows 7 on a 64 bit Dell. Any ideas. Thanks Howard.

I figured out the problem. X2 will not acept images that are Progressive jpeg's. I change them to straight jpeg's and they load fine.

Hi Howard
Welcome to the forum

There have been problems for some users and Progressive Jpegs.
I first noticed when using VS 10, so the problem is not a new.
I now only use Baseline images.

Thanks for the information and conformation of Progressive images.

I just want to express how grateful I am for the existence of this board. I did upgrade to Windows7, got a new scanner and X2 would not see the scanned images anymore. After a few tries to solve the problem on my own I searched this board and after reading this post I changed the scanner properties to standard JPG and problem solved! Thanks for all your posts!! :D
