Playback speed problem

Post by Knarf »

Hello,

If I playback in fragment mode, the speed is ok.
But if I playback in project mode the speed is a little slowing down.

How is this possible ?

It's possible because in clip ("fragment") mode, only one clip is being played. But in project mode, the program is trying to given an idea of how the whole project, including editing and transitions, will look. This takes a little time to put together, and is made more complex (and usually slower) when the format of the video demands more of the computer resources. With AVCHD high definition mpeg-4, for instance, your computer would probably not be able to play a clip smoothly, even in clip mode...

However, in your case, you have not told us anything about the properties of the video you are using. Without that, we can't really say much more. So please right click on one of the video clips, either in the VS timeline or in the library window of VS, and copy ALL its Properties here...

Hello Ben,

Thanks for you quick response.
I found out that the problem is what you describe about mp4 high def.
The clip who was problematic was indeed a mp4 high def clip.
With the other formats it was no problem anymore.

Greetings
Frank
