Post by yotta »

hi
i am getting some trouble when i want to convert my video (sharing process) after the treatment .
the original video that i use is AVI format and when i want to share the video, i save it under AVI format too but the file that i got is bigger that the original one( and when i edited the movie i didn't add any new sequences).

There is more than one type of .avi file and even files of the same type can have different 'bit rates' - both of these affect the final file size. Did you use "same as first clip" when you created your output file or did you just choose 'Microsoft Avi' from the list.

Put your original video in the timeline - right click on it - select 'properties' - copy them and paste them here.

Then put your new output file in the timeline - right click on it - select 'properties- copy them and paste them here.

Once we have seen the two lots of properties we will propably be able to fully explain the reasons for you file size increase.

So we can now see that you have started with a DivX file ( a highly compressed format) with a frame size of 704 x 528 - and converted it to an un-compressed file with a frame size of 720 x 576. No wonder your file size has grown

If you want to keep the file size down then when you go to 'Share >> Create Video File' you must be more selective with your choices - if you cannot see a pre-set that much more closely matches your input you need to select 'Custom' and choose your own properties for the output file.
