Hi. I am transferring my video footage from camcorder to PC (no issues with connection).
On my camcorder, I have the date and time showing when the footage was filmed during playback.
I want this to be shown on my PC so I can edit the video showing date and time.
However, when I transfer from camcorder showing date and time to PC, the date and time disappear when it reaches the PC?
How do I ensure the date and time remain?
Thank you.

Unfortunately Alex the answer is you can't. VideoStudio does have the option to display the time code while editing - Press F6 for preferences then down towards the bottom of the dialogue box click to tick next to "Display DV timecode in Preview Window" but even then that is not transferred to the actual video . The best option is to use that info to put a date into a small title down at the bottom of your screen.
I don't know your particular camcorder but on many of them if you have time and date showing when you film then it is burned to the video and we used to get a number of questions asking how to remove it. so perhaps the answer to your problem may lie in your camera - or a new one which does burn the timecode to video in camera.

If I can add.
Analogue camcordes used ot either burn the date time to the tape or not.
When we moved to digital, a small portion of the tape is reserved for meta data, so as Brian says you cna access the date time etc, but it isn't actually part of the video.
You can use 3rd party apps to get it on the screen if you want it there permanently, unlike the temp method Brian suggests.
