Download Photo Project Creator

Post by zehavi »

Hello,
I have downloaded the Paint Shop Pro X3 (full version). It seems that the Photo Project Creator is not included in the program. In Corel website I didn't found any link to the Project Creator. Is there any possibility to download the Project Creator? I need it to creat slideshows.
In the User Guide it is written that some versions of Paint Shop Pro X3 do not include the Photo Project Creator application. My version is 13.2.0.35.
In this opportunity, I will also be glad to have some opinions about the Project Creator, I am still using the old Ulead DVD PicturShow 4 and I find it not bad at all.
Thanks,
Abraham

The Project Creator is an oversized piece of bloatware in my opinion. If you already have PictureShow 4 and like it you may just want to stick with that (I'm saying this never having tried PictureShow).

For slideshows, you get one transition type per slideshow, so if you want a dissolve for one section and a wipe for another then too bad.
You get one sound track, so if you want to have 2 songs you either do a work around or too bad.
You get 5 or 6 "styles" to choose from, but they are basically just the entro and exit. If you want more, too bad.

Microsoft's Movie Maker XP (not the live version) is what I use. Much more user friendly, a lot more features, and more options for doing just exactly what you want to do. In fact Picasa probably does a better job with slideshows than the Project Creator. And the Project Creator has a pretty slow interface to boot. I'll never even try it again. If it's not on your hard drive then consider yourself lucky.

Thank you df for your reply,
I am convinced now to leave the idea to look up after the Photo Project Creator.
It seems to me that the programs under ULEAD were much better than those under COREL. The Corel Video Studio Pro X3 is also not a perfect one especialy the part of creating movie disks, I prefer to do it with my old Ulead Video Studio 10+.

You can make a slideshow in X3 from within the organiser (search for slideshow in the online help for details). But it is somewhat limited also. I use other, more flexible software.
PS I have 13.2.0.41 which is the X3 ultimate version. You can download the trial version. First time you run its installer it will remove your current version of X3. Run the installer again and it installs, silently accepting your X3 key and shows as full (not trial) version.

If you really want the project creator, a link is provided in the Corel X3 news group
