When starting Video Studio Pro X3 the program starts and then displays the following error:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library error:
Program c:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Videostudio Pro X3\vstudio.exe
abnormal program termination[/center]
I have removed ProX3 and reinstalled with SP1 but with no luck.
I still have Pro X2 installed on the PC which still works fine.
Thanks
David

Runtime Errors are annoying and difficult to pin down to their cause. Bad memory, corrupt DLL files, ect., will throw this error. Have a look at the following web page for a possible solution. Scroll down to the image resembling your error message..

Check to see if Windows Compatibility mode is turned on:
Right Click on the icon for VideoStudio Pro X3 and then select Properties, once the properties window is open select the Compatibility tab. Make sure there is no check marks in any of the options. Also be sure to check the settings for all users.
Check the Windows Event Viewer to see if there any other information regarding the error:
Click Start and open the Windows Control Panel, at the top right you see an option to sort the icons. Change the setting to small or large icons and then select Administrative tools, now open the event viewer. Expand Windows Logs and then select Application, wait for the list to populate and see if there is any logs from the VideoStudio crash.
The faulting application should read as vstudio.exe 13.0.0.0 and then there may be a faulting module, the faulting module is what we need to be able to determine what is the cause of the crash.
Try the above and post any information from the event viewer and we will see what we can do.

Re: Runtime Error VSPro X3
Thanks all for your feedback.
I have checked the Windows Event Viewer and couldn't find any entries pertaining to VideoStudio.
Error was still occuring so I cleared the log to make sure it wasn't registering as something else.
After clearing the event log VideoStudio Pro X3 is now starting properly!
Can't understand that the two are in any way related.
But it's now working.
Thanks again
David
