Video Walls/Picture in Picture

Post by xxMrMongoose »

Hey I'm new to Corel and looking for some effects that I saw on Pinnacle or something similar that was in the montage section of Pinnacle. But Pinnacle decides to fail on my pc.

I'm making or going to start making footage of games montages etc and I want to create an intro that will be plopped onto the start of all the videos I make, the specific effect I'm looking for is a transition that will zoom out of one clip and then back into the next but between doing so having a bunch of smaller clips playing out to themselves in the back ground. Or would I be able to use Picture in Picture with a zoom effect on one and make my own zoom out/in with marker points and have 6 clips going on?

You don't say what version you are using, but I'll assume X3 since you say you are new to Corel. X3 has some PiP video filters that should do what you are looking for.

Yeah sorry it is X3 and I've tried picture in picture but can't figue out how to zoom out of the entire footage. The effect only seems to effect one clip and not the entire video as a whole.

Is there any where I can download some transitions to expand the choices? I'm looking for something that goes from A to F and between the transition displays clips of B, C, D, E

After going to Pinnacle's website, and looking at their tutorial video for montage, I also suggest using the New Blue PiP effect. This is a very powerful, 3D motion video filter. It can be a little clumsy to work with at first, but once you work with it a couple of times, you'll find it's not that bad. For a montage, just apply the effect to each clip. To learn how to use this effect have a look at the video tutorial found in our Video Product Tutorials forum. In that section open the thread for Video Tutorials for VS X3. There are several found there. HOWEVER, the specific one you should view is found on Vimeo. These can be accessed easily by clicking on the round button (Corel Guide) found in the upper-right corner of VS X3, then clicking on the Vimeo image in the storyboard, and the link provided in the description. It will take you to Corel's Vimeo channel. Here's the tutorial from there:

Ah yeah that's cracking cheers. Just watched the tutorial and seemed quite useful, now it's just a matter of messing around with it and learning to do some cool stuff to make an intro for my videos.

Hi Ron,

very nice tutorial PiP.
You mention in VSX3 thru the Corel Guide that you can find vimeo on the storyboard. I tried to finf it, but I only see: Start-Learn-Do more and messages.
Please clarify,

Hi Ron,

thank you for your prompt reply.
It is akward. My intial page after clicking on Cprel guide show at the storyboard only:
Learn more with Corel Guide and Imort and organize,.
Also the text part in the middle :Learn mor with the Corel Guide does not show anything on Vimeo.

It looks like that part on vimeo is missing??

Any clarification for this?
My buildnbr of VSX3 is 13.6.0.376

You obviously don't have all the updates, patches and SPs applied since the full version, depending on how you look at it, is either 13.6.2.21 or 13.6.2.36... But either is certainly well beyond your own version number...

That being said, with my version 13.6.2.21, I don't get Ron's Vimeo link either (under the general Learn link or under any of the three tabs down below)... and what is more, never have!! :?: :?:

Hi Ken,

thank you.
I have downloaded the updates from the Corel support site and now I have ....21.
I was in the opinion that I had the latest update thru Corel Guide message service.
