Do I need ti install the service packs?

Post by allanhobbs »

I just purchased PSP Photo X3 and noticed there are 2 service packs available.

Are these service packs already included in the download I did today or do I need to install either or both of them?

Thanks

Run "Check for Updates" inside of PSP and let it decide.

But if you really want to know, then that depends. When PSPX3 starts up what is number in the lower right-corner of the splash screen?

If the number is 13.2.0.35 then you're good to go. If it's something else then you need the patches.

EDIT: Corrected the number above, small typo it said 15 when it should have said 35. My bad.

Hello everyone,

I'm Abiel from Corel Support. Like what LeviFiction said, if your version number is 13.2.0.35 then you're good to go. But if you like to make sure if you have the updated software, then you can click on HELP > CHECK FOR UPDATES or you can manually download the updates from http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 9872271743.

Abiel you may want to clarify if they need to install the first patch then the second of if the second includes the first patch in it. That question hasn't been answered yet.

I have the boxed version and it reports as being version 13.2.1.7, but after manually installing the patches up to service pack 4, the version number is only 13.2.1.20, so I suppose I should uninstall/re-install the original disc version, right?

13.2.1.20 > 13.2.1.7

So....no. You are all up to date.

Well mostly, there is a special patch for a bug regarding losing pixels after merging down or defloating selections and things like that. But it doesn't change the version number at all since it's not the official fifth patch.

For the heaven sake, could Corel make a more mess on service packs??? Have you counted how many questions in this forum related to sp:s?
Did I understand right: if I have box-installed PSPX3 version 13.2.1.20 (or higher) I do NOT need to install service packs 1-4? (CHECK FOR UPDATES doesn't find any updates).

Box or download doesn't matter. If the version number is 13.2.1.20 then you have all four service packs installed.

If you want to get rid of the bug where pixels are lost when performing a merge down or defloating a selection and so on there is a special beta fifth patch, in other words you have to find it, that you can install. This does not change the version number at all, so if you didn't install it manually you don't have it.

Patch #5 - technically

Again it's not the truth fifth patch, assuming its coming at all, but it does help a little.
