More menu tenplates to VS PRO X3

Post by zehavi »

Hello,
Is there any possibility to add more menu tenplates to those which are already included in the program?
Thanks,
Abraham

Zehavi,

First there are no, none, zero, zilch, menu templates with VS X3. That's right, because VS X3 does not have a DVD authoring/burning module. Instead included with VS X3 is the awful DVD Factory 2010, or if you download and installed Corel's replacement to that, DVD MovieFactory 7SE. Both of these are stand-alone programs. So any menu templates would be included with them.

VS X3 does have the Instant Project, which does have style packs. These are not menu templates, but templates used to help build your video, provide you with ideas, for intros and endings to your videos.

I'm not aware of any additional menu templates that can be purchased or obtained for free. VS for years used PhotoImpact to edit and create from scratch menu templates. These menu templates could be used not only in VS but in DVD MovieFactory. The menu templates are constructed in PhotoImpact's proprietary working file format, UFO.

If you are interested in creating your own menu templates, you might check Corel's Store for PhotoImpact X3. I know in the USA, it still can be purchased, but don't know just how much longer Corel will be selling it. Corel decided that they would stop support for, and further development of PhotoImpact.

Thank you Ron,
Actually my intention was menu templates for MovieFactory 7SE. From your answer I understand that I can't get it free from Corel, so we have to wait for better goods from Corel in the future.

Abraham

In our General Information and Downloads forum, there are some DVD Menu templates that were created and uploaded by forum members..

Like I mentioned in my previous post, if you're really interested in more DVD menus, then why not create them yourself? Check to see if you can still purchase PhotoImpact X3 in your part of the world. Here's the link to it in Corel's United States store... PhotoImpact X3.

I think that one of the reasons why there are not that many menu templates supplied with the original programme is because it is so easy to customise and save menu templates within MovieFactory (and VideoStudio) itself - the changes you can make to a template within the programme are endless. Apart from the obvious like changing the background picture (to a video if you wish), change the music, you can change the number and size of the thumbnails - move them to any position on the menu - change thumbnail frames, change navigation buttons, etc etc. and end up with a totally different template that you then save for future use. For instance here are a couple of variations I made up a while ago to demonstrate some of the customisation available :-

And this is another random sample I made to prove a point - I'm not suggesting for one minute that you would actually make one just like this but it is just another example of what you can do - it is a real template by the way - not something I made up in Photo Impact or similar :-
