Think we might need a bit more information, what exactly are you trying to do - do you have a video in the 'Video' track at this point - where is the timeline cursor, the audio will be inserted starting where the cursor is so make sure it's somewhere near the beginning of the video , what sort of audio are you trying to record (.wav , MP3, etc. ) - where is the audio coming from - direct recording or from a file on your PC. If a direct recording how are you connecting sound source and PC, -What version of VideoStudio are you using.

Help us to help you

Ah - so your actually trying to record video with a sound track together - I do not know what the video/audio stream from an Xbox comprises, but I am sure someone will be along shortly who can help you.

How is your Xbox connected to your PC, ie; what are you using to capture the video? What is the capture format you're using in VS? Typically when you capture video from a camcorder, the video and audio are mixed together into a single stream. I'm just guessing here, but since capturing video without the audio works, I get the feeling that you're capturing your audio through a separate stream, through a sound card line-in.
