As a new registered user of this board I have searched for an answer, but didn't see anything. So here is my question: I just upgraded to a new PC and am wondering if Photo Impact 11 is fully compatible with the Windows 7 64 bit system? I have been using PI 11 for along time (I love its versatility and simplicity) and it serves 99% of my digital imaging needs for both web design and photography. I don't want to spend a hefty chunk of money to replace the software if I don't have to. If not fully compatible as is, are updated drivers available for Win 7?
On a side note, if I do have to spring for new software, which current Corel product would be a good replacement (at reasonable cost!) for PI 11, considering it is such an affordable and versatile product. Thanks for anyone's advice and guidance.

Re: PI 11 and Windows 7
The last released version was PI X3, and it is not fully Win7 compatible. Corel discontinued PI a year or so ago, so there is not and will not be any patches released to support Win7. That being said, VS 11does not support Vista, and with PI 12, they had to release a service pack to support Vista. I understand that you need a special version of Win7 to have the Compatibility mode. If your version of Win7 does not have that, then about the only other option would be to set up a dual-boot system, having WinXP and Win7, OR keep your older PC and use PI 11 on that system.
I still have my 5yr desktop, running WInXP, and use alot of old programs on it.

Re: PI 11 and Windows 7
Ron,
Thanks for the quick reply. Hate to see PI go by the wayside. I've used it at home and work for many years and am loathe to change to something else. The no cost alternative is the dual operating system I suppose, at least until I feel like spending money for new software. I appreciate your insight.

Re: PI 11 and Windows 7
Hello all;
I use Windows7 home premium with PIx3. When I got this new computer, I installed X3 from the disk, and it works identical to when i used it with my 6 year old windows xp. If you check with the users over at the Pirk forum, many of them use PIX#3 with windos7. And by the way, Corel is clearing out PIX3 at a very low price. Best of luck.Warren
