Error code: "Corel DVD FActory 2010 Has Stopped Working"
Greetings, I have been reading and lurking here for awhile, looking for solution to my problem. Have been working with various earlier versions of ULead video. Upgraded to VS Pro X3 last spring. I have created a movie using my own sources from my hard drive which include part of a movie I created using Ulead V8, some pictures and some music. I am not using any external devices. Currently my project is 1.75MB in VSP format. I am trying to export to a DVD on my Computer's drive E in NTSC format. In "Step 1 of 2 converting " which is at about 4 minutes 37 seconds I get an error message "Corel DVD Factory 2010 has stopped working. A Problem caused the computer to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I have also tried to create a video file of the project, and the error message then is "Corel Video file - Unspecified error." This message came when the project was at 88%. I'm not a computer geek, but I did contact a friend who suggested I open windows and check for all available updates that might be applicable to our computer and usage which I did do. Does anyone have any further suggestions? I've been frustrated by this problem for a couple of months now. I found out through this forum and also my personal experience that the online support at Corel is not a useful source. Thanks for your suggestions!

Hi
Corel Video Studio X3 provided DVD factory Pro 2010 as its authoring program, unfortunately this program is rubbish.
Corel have provided DVD Movie Factory 7SE as a replacement.
If you have not installed this program check for X3 updates.
Using Video Studio X3 you have to complete your project by Share Create Video File- choosing the DVD option will create a Video File suitable for burning to a DVD.
Are you able to create a video file.?
Now open DVD Movie Factory 7SE, choose DVD then Next
Now add your video file created in the step above.
DVD Movie Factory 7Se is very similar to the authoring section used with VS8.

Re: Error code: "Corel DVD FActory 2010 Has Stopped Working"
Welcome to the forums!!
Good to know you have been lurking, though I am rather surprised you have not seen a number of recent threads by other users trying to use DVD Factory 2010 unsuccessfully. I'll give the stock answer, which is brief. Forget DVD Factory 2010. It is not fit for purpose, it's slow, and it's riddled with problems. Corel issued it with Video Studio X3 without consulting any users, and we were all aghast when it appeared as a substitute for the previous tried and true burning engine of previous versions.
So Corel finally recognised their error and instead issued an SE version of Movie Factory 7 as a subsitute. It uses the same coding for its burning engine as was used in previous version of Video Studio. You find it by looking for the symbol of a little circle of dots up in the top right hand corner of VS X3. Click on that, then select the Get More tab. You should find a link to download Movie Factory 7 SE -- though it usually only appears at least 3 days after you have installed X3. The only thing you have to remember to do is to render your project into a video -- not directly to a DVD -- in X3 once you have finished editing: Share > Create Video File. Then you open MF 7 SE and insert that new file in it.
FYI, your X3 project file (VSP) is *not* a video file. It is only a small text file saying what is in the project, where the files are located, and what editing has been done to it. So telling us that it is 1.75 MB is meaningless. What we really need to know is what format the video you have used is (right click on a file in the X3 timeline and select Properties); where it came from; and what editing you have actually done.
EDIT: I see that my colleague Trevor has also replied to this while I was typing the above. I will leave my response as is, to reinforce the points he has already made.

Re: Error code: "Corel DVD FActory 2010 Has Stopped Working"
I sincerely apologize as I posted this question on Septembert 16th and did not include some of the necessary details about my project. Ron Peterson did provide some answers however I need to remove one of these threads as they are duplicate. The thread posted on September 17th contains the information I should have provided in the first place. Feel free to remove the Sept 16th post so there are not duplicates and now I will read your replies and get going on this problem. Deb

AS I just said in your other thread, it is too late to delete one or the other. But I will now lock this thread and if you have further questions, post them in the other one.
