WinDVD won't play DVDs

Post by jezj »

Installed WinDVD10, and when playing any DVD's it shows the first few seconds then stops and displays - 'Your display environment does not support protected content playback'

Windows media player works fine, and installed a trial of PowerDVD10 which is also fine.

Running it on Win7 x64 with a GTX480 to a Dell 3008wfp via Dual-Link DVI.

I know I have to use HDMI for Blu-Rays due to HDCP but standard DVDs that play on WMP and PDVD should surely work on this also.

Is there a way to get this to work?

Can you please provide me with the Driver Version of your video card?

Click Start | Accessories | Run | Type: dxdiag | Select Display 1 | right hand side you should see the driver date and version
