I'm having ongoing issues editing a webinar (wmv file). I'm trying to trim roughly three minutes total from the video. The frame size is important to preserve the clarity of the text on the screen as the presentation runs - when I try to keep the frame size relatively large, the file blows up to three times the original size. The "Same as First Video Clip" option under Share is grayed out (previous questions seem to indicate that may not be an option with WMV files?).
Is there a pre-set profile that has a large frame size and will not triple the file size? I haven't been able to find one and my attempts at customizing one have failed. My computer freezes consistently at 99% rendering a wmv to flv file (I've spoken with support and have updated my drivers, am running Direct X 11, and done an un-install removing registry keys followed by a re-install -- still freezing). I'm trying to stick with wmv files as a result of that experience.
The Original File: WMV
size: 45.2 MB
1920x1080
Data rate:4929 kbps
29 frames/second
Audio bit rate 48 kbps
Length: 58.01
Example (WMV)
Size: 152 MB
1280x720
Data Rate: 593 kbps
29 frames/second
Audio bit Rate: 137 kbps
Length: 55.29
Please let me know if any additional information might be helpful. Thanks in advance for any help!

Our webinar software made the original file while the webinar was in progress. I'm trying to edit the file to then stream on our website if that helps.

GoToWebinar -- there is not editing option, it saves directly to your Desktop after the webinar completes - (takes about 10 min or so to fully save upon completion of webinar)

Hi
I too think the original file is a little small, I would expect 180Mb.
I have looked at Webinar but needs me to register, sorry no.
To re-check your video files properties……….
Can you right click an original clip in the timeline and select properties.
What are They?

Re: VS X3 wmv file size huge on save/share
From my research there is no way to keep hte g2m3 file the gtw makes. They give you the option of converting to a std wmv, try this and see what file size it gives. You may then be able to edit this file, otherwise it appears you are going to have to take the size hit if you wish to edit, so your choice is leave in 2 mins and keep small size of take out two mins and have big size.
