I have a sony camcorder (link of camera is at the bottom) that I want to capture through 1394 to MSP Video Capture software. What are the best settings I should use? I tried Capturing to mpeg but is does not seem that good. Should I try DV1 or DV2? Which is better?
I am also using Adobe Encore DVD for Burning. Should I save my project in MSP as a AVI then let Adobe Encore encode it?
One last question. Should I check use smart rendering?

I can only tell you what I do; as it happens I get great results.
I capture to DV1 (DV2 separates the audio and video streams, more work for processor and I can't see any real need to do it). I work and edit in AVI, and create an AVI video file. I also use Smart Render, and finally export the AVI file to my burning application.
