Using VS X2 Pro
First off...I tried doing several searches for what is probably a very simple setting that I am missing and regardless of the keywords used I got this message.
The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: image capture still.
You must specify at least one word to search for. Each word must consist of at least 3 characters and must not contain more than 14 characters excluding wildcards.
So....all I want to do is capture a still image from a clip and maintain the same 16:9 aspect ratio but the captured still keeps changing to 4:3. I've gone into preferences and cannot find anyway to select or change this.
Sorry if this is a much repeated question but for whatever reason the forum search does not like me...at all.
Thanks!

Re: capture still image aspect ratio problem
Corel could have done a better job at making this more intuitive...
What you need to do is first make sure your in Project mode. Then click on the Tools menu, and select Save current frame as Image. This saves your image based on the frame size/aspect ratio of your video clip. The other, Save as Image, works in Clip mode, and will as you found out, save it in a 4:3 aspect ratio.

Yes westlight - I think we are all agreed that the search function on these forums is not at all helpful, used to be the case that when somebody new asked a question quite often the first response would be something like "If you had used the search function you would have found 'X' answers to your problem" - - but I have erased that sentence from my memory now - because as you found , even if you search you are unlikely to get a meaningful response.

Thank you Ron.
Glad to hear that I am not the only one that has this feeling about the search function...so I appreciate the answer that much more.
Cheers!
