Could users (tried and tested) please list supported file types (input/output) for versions X2/X3.
Thanks.
Also I received a pop-up media extension notification when visiting this site?
Thanks again...

Re: Fully supported file types;
Kind of like asking "how long is a piece of string?". There are a lot of variables, most notably how powerful the editing computer is. Someone trying to edit AVCHD with a P4 will tell you it won't work, but if you use a Quad Core it should.

Re: Fully supported file types;
My apologies, perhaps I should have been more specific;
I`m trying to load XvidHD 1280x720 into Corel VS X2
I have many systems including a five year old (Pentium4 3.2GHz) system with Ulead VS9 (retail) installed = This has no problems loading the XvidHD files although it is very slow with encoding.
My current build/system with VS X2 (retail) has issues with many various file types = Guess you know this.
I also have an 836kb program that will accept input of all SD+HD content, athough so far can only encode to mpeg/mpg2 for SD dvd burning
Oops, I shall fill out my specs next visit.

Re: Fully supported file types;
VS X2 & VS X3 do not allow editing DivX or Xvid formats. You can render your project to either format though. You need to first convert them to a format that VS will accept.

Re: Fully supported file types;
Each of the versions will allow creating the Xvid or DivX, provided you have the proper codec installed. VS uses the avi container for these. However I know DivX uses the file extension of .divx, which VS does not recognize. I'm not at home right now, where I have VS9 installed on my desktop PC, to check how it is supporting inserting the Xvid or DivX files.

Re: Fully supported file types;
I checked VS9 and found the list of acceptable file types to be about the same as I posted above. I also discovered that I can drag-n-drop a DivX file, from windows explorer, into VS, which then allows editing it. I don't have an Xvid file to test this, but it should work the same as DivX, since about the only difference in the two, Xvid is a free open source codec, DivX is not.
