Photoshop PDP Files

Post by allanp »

I've just bought Videostudio Pro X3 and am very disappointed that it doesn't seem to support photoshop PDP files, as earlier versions do. To me this is important to 'spice up' videos by adding images with transparent backgrounds. How can this now be done?

Any help appreciated.

Welcome to the forums,

Do you mean PhotoShop's PSD files? If so, I have no idea why Corel dropped that from the list of acceptable photo formats. Right now about the only thing you could do is convert it to a format that VS X3 accepts. To maintain the "alpha channel" (transparent background), try using PNG.

Ron P Thank you for your prompt help. Yes, I did mean PSD rather than PDP. My head is spinning with acronyms. Sorry.
I will try your advice and save as PNG (Should I chose 'none' or 'interlace' in response to the Interlace box when saving a file as PNG?).

Thank you again.

Choose None. Also make sure that when you save it, you have a transparent background.
