I have created a 1268x868 JPEG image in Irfanview but when I add it to my project , it does not fill the screen ( there is black top and bottom )
I seem to remember having this problem sometime ago but cannot remember what to do to get the image to fill the screen.
Help anyone ?

Re: Image size on the screen
Hi Terry
The video frame for widescreen is 16:9
To fill the frame with an image it should also use this ratio.
Standard DVD for pal would use 1024 x 576.
For HD 1920 x 1080
For standard 4:3 use an image it is 768 x 576 minimum.
Basically any pixel size will do provided it’s the same or greater than the video frame size, and using the correct aspect ratio.
What is the aspect ratio of your project/video?

Re: Image size on the screen
Hi Trevor
Nice of you to come to my aid again !
The project properties are 720x576 pixels and Aspect Ratio 4:3
The image I have created is 1268wide x 868high
Is there any reason there that I am not showing a full screen image ?

Re: Image size on the screen
Hi Terry
Your image is 1268wide x 868 high this is not 4:3 ratio
1268 x 951 is 4:3 ratio and would fill the frame of 4:3
(Use a calculator 1268 divided by 4 times by 3 equals 951)
Basically your image is not tall/high enough to fill the frame.
E-mail the image and I will resize, maybe if you were to compare the two it would help you understand.
Cheers Brian

Re: Image size on the screen
Thanks for that , Trevor ! It is quite simple really isn't it ? I am using a piece of software called IrfanView and it enables you , among other things , to adjust the size of images. I have now done that and bingo ... works a treat !
All I need now is to find out how to edit the text that I have put into the image ; I have looked at the 'help' files and they just don't help ! ................. or maybe I am missing something again !
Thanks again Trevor.
