Where do the files from PSPP_X3_TBYB.exe go after running?
I ran free trial download so I can input my serial number after so I can get my paint shop back on my computer to start my work again, but after running PSPP_X3_TBYB.exe, it installed and everything, but then once it was done installing, nothing happened. I tried looking for any of the files that it might have installed on my computer but I couldn't find any.

Hello and Welcome
I am a little confused by your question - can you clarify the exact situation please
You say you downloaded the TBYB version and put in a serial number to get PaintShop pro back on your computer to start work again, are you saying that you had a purchased version which stopped working and in an attempt to get it working again you put your original serial number into the TBYB version ???. Try before you buy versions do not have or need a serial number to get them to work - they can have an activation code to convert them from the free version to the paid for version - a serial number from a purchased version will not work on TBYB version.
So have you got a paid for version with a serial number as well as the free TBYB version - or have I misread your question

Re: Where do the files from PSPP_X3_TBYB.exe go after runnin
That is not what I was asking. I have both the Activation Code and the Serial number for my version of Corel PaintShop Photo Pro X3. That is not my problem. The problem is that I can't get to the part where I have to enter it to get the full version back. I can't even get to a trial version. When I try to download it by double clicking on PSPP_X3_TBYB.exe, it installs and everything, but then after it installs, it doesn't start automatically. So I tried to manually start it by finding it in my computer's files. The problem is that I can not find the installed software anywhere on my computer. No matter how many times I install it. No matter how many times I restart my computer.

Re: Where do the files from PSPP_X3_TBYB.exe go after runnin
The program itself, once installed, resides in C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel PaintShop Photo Pro\X3\PSPClassic, you having a 64 bit system will need to look in the Program Files (x86) folder though. The name of the actual EXE is Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo.exe
The installer itself resides where ever you put it when you downloaded it.

That's the first place I checked. Nothing. There is no Corel folder. Actually, I searched my whole computer using Search for anything with "Corel" in it, and found nothing. This is my problem.

Did you run the program as administrator?
I know this is odd but if you have Vista/Windows 7 and have turned off the UAC then you have to force programs like installation programs to run as admin in order for them to work properly.
If the UAC is turned on it'll ask you to confirm you want to install so if that happens then it's not what I'm thinking.
But if you have the UAC turned off then it's installing to a special location in a hidden file.

Yes, I did run the program as the Administrator several times with the same result.

If you had X3 installed, the first time you run the PSPP_X3_TBYB.exe it uninstalls what you had. Run the instaler again, it will then install (in my case it silently accepted the key from the previous install and showed as the full, not trial version). It will show as 13.2.0.41.

I just tried as you suggest but find that it retains a Trial Serial Number
and does not 'silently' retain the full User Serial Number
My full X3 number begins TS13U22
whereas the X3 Ultimate Trial one begins TS13T22.
Please can you explain a little more what you did and established?

Re: Where do the files from PSPP_X3_TBYB.exe go after runnin
PSPP X3 13.2.0.35 was installed. I downloaded and saved to my hard drive PSPP_X3_TBYB.exe, double clicked on it thinking that it would just update my current installation, but instead it uninstalled PSPP X3 (and Corel Paintshop pro Project Creator) and finished. So I double clicked on PSPP_X3_TBYB.exe again and it reinstalled X3, but now showing version 13.2.0.41. It did not ask for my key at any time. It does not say trial. It did not reinstall Project Creator.
Sorry that did not work for you. Looking through the Corel X3 newsgroup others had the same experience as me.
Did you perhaps uninstall your previous version manually before installing PSPP_X3_TBYB.exe, or delete any related folders or registry keys that contained your key?
As I don't show trial version on my system I don't know, but if there is some option to type in a serial key to make it official version, try typing in the one you had, see if it accepts it.

Re: Where do the files from PSPP_X3_TBYB.exe go after runnin
I would look in the control panel (uninstall programs) and see if it is listed there.
If it is delete the program( uninstall),make sure you do have admin priveledges go to your account on the Corel site ,there you will find all your paid orders, and download the program again making sure you choose SAVE the download to the desktop where you can easily find it.don't run it directly from the download
Once the download completes (and it is a long download even on broadband) then run the intall from the desktop. do not have anything else running and no AV software either (disable it).
The program is a long download and install so be patient!

I wouldn't bother X3 ultimate is a new version of X3 and your X3 serial will not work with it only with X3 Its an upgrade not a update

Re: Where do the files from PSPP_X3_TBYB.exe go after runnin
In my earlier post, I said that I tried to do as JRosenfeld did, i.e. install X3 Update from the Trial Download having already got X3 installed.
For me it worked fine, after it uninstalled my X3 first and I went back to my saved copy of PSPP_X3_TBYB.exe to install X3U,
but I noticed that the Serial Numbers are different.
The Original X3 bought early this year begins: TS13U22
whereas the new X3 Ultimate Trial one begins TS13T22.
Looking back on the Corel web-site for My Account details, it says something similar happened before:
for the full purchased copy of X2 Ultimate begins PU12U22 whereas my X2 Ultimate Trial (before I purchased it) was PU12T22.
I am just a little concerned that I am now locked into a 30-day Trial
