After booting up I have started to get a message saying to wait while windows (XP)configs Win DVD.As far as I know I have never used this prog. Then it tells me that the feature I am trying to use is on a CD or other disc and that it is not available.Insert Win DVD and click OK.How do I stop this from happening

Re: wiat while XP configs Win DVD
What version of VS are you using Kenneth? Is it VS 11.5+? If so they included Win DVD8 Silver with it. Ok, first go to Start>All Programs>Start up, and see if there's anything in there. Any programs found in there will start when Windows boots up. If so just delete from there, by going to C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name Here \Start Menu\Programs\Start Up, and delete the shortcut file in that folder.
Also check the Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel to see if it was in fact installed. If so and you don't want that program uninstall it. You can check the Task Manager to see if it's running, and if so stop it.
Do you by chance have the install disc for VS in your CD tray? If so, it may be trying to auto-run.

Ok one more place to check that might provide a clue. Check your Event Viewer, Application and also the System. It's found by right-clicking on the My Computer icon on your desktop, selecting Manage. In the Computer Management dialog window, click on the + beside Event Viewer to expand it so you can see the Application and System. Click on one of them and then in the right pane, scroll down, looking for errors and warnings. There should be something listed relating to your problem.

Re: wait while XP configs Win DVD
Looked in Applications, there are warnings and an error all under the source list relating to Ms Installer, WinDVD not mentioned. Most of the dates here were on 07 09 2010.In System the source of warnings and errors were shown as Tcpip,Service Control Manager Dhcp ,DCCM or st if that means anything to you cos it dont to me,no mention of WinDVD.

Re: wiat while XP configs Win DVD
I had previously done a search for WinDVD without the .exe which did not show any results.
However with the .exe the search came up with 3 files.
Manifest 41 KB
Local 0 KB
Application 7101 KB
all in C:\ProgramFiles\InterVideo\DVD8 .
So that is good progress, next question is do I just browse to that location via the browse field in the config box and how can I get to this box before turning the PC off.
I am also wondering how this prog got in my PC on the 5 2 07, could this have been installed within another install(ie of VS) without me knowing or realising?
If it is is in prog files why does it not show any else like all progs .
What do I do if I now want to use WinDVD ?
