Newbie-Can't get Chapters to appear when burning to DVD
I am using Video Studio X2 and after I create a movie project, edit in all the chapters I want to add and then burn to DVD, I see no chapters. I have followed the manual, but it seems the chapters do not carry over from the movie project created during editing to the burning application. The main purpose for using the software is to take home movies off of DV and create chapters with transitions. Can somebody help me out?

Hi
Welcome to the forum.
There are two approaches in burning a DVD.
1 / from the edit timeline, Share Create Disc, this will open the burner module with your project..
If you have previously added chapter points to your project.
From the second window choose the option immediately below the preview screen to select the Chapter Menu or main Menu
2 / From the edit timeline Share Create Video File-DVD, this creates a mpeg 2 file suitable for burning a DVD.
From an empty timeline Share Create Disc – Add Video, using the file made above.
You will now have to create the chapter points, first window

Re: Newbie-Can't get Chapters to appear when burning to DVD
Thanks Trevor, that seems to capture all of my chapter points properly. One other question, now when I look at a menu it doesn't seem to keep the names of my chapters which I created in the edit view timeline. Do I need to name them again on the preview screens?

Hi
I do not normally use chapter points, my videos are not that complicated, Just home movies.
I generally use the second option, creating a video file first. I would then have to create the chapter points from scratch.
I do believe there was a problem with the naming of chapter points, as it doesn’t seem to have been fixed you will unfortunately have to re-name them.

OK, I'll try renaming them. Mine are home movies too, just don't want to have to search through an hour at a time for a particular memory, thus the chapters. Anyway, you have been a big help and I appreciate it.
