Burnt to DVD - but audio and video speed differs

Post by MacWomble »

I have finally completed a project of about 37 minutes in length, and created an MPG file of the final product.
I have checked the final version and it is perfect - exactly what I wanted.

However, I have then tried to create a DVD disc using the DVD Factory and one of the preset templates.

Having completed the burn process, I have found that when I play the DVD, the audio and video speed of my original movie appear to be running at very slightly different speeds. At the beginning of the clip (on the DVD) the synchronisation is perfect - whereas by the end of the movie there appears to be upward of a 7 second difference.

As I said, the original file I imported to my DVD project is fine - I have double checked it again.

Is there something I might have done in the process of putting the DVD project together that has caused this problem?
Has it happened to anyone else?

Thanks

Am I correct, thinking that you're using VS Pro X3? Is it the trial or full registered version? Have you downloaded DVD MovieFactory 7SE? I recommend using that for your DVD authoring, instead of DVD Factory Pro 2010. Since there is no OOS (Out of Sync) issues with the video file itself prior to burning, then DVD Factory Pro 2010 is the culprit that is causing the OOS problem. Also if you have some other DVD authoring program installed, try using it and see if you still have the same sync problem. To save on discs, try creating DVD Folders, instead of burning a disc. You can then check it using a software DVD Player.

Hi

I assume you used Share Create Video File………….
What template/properties did you use to create the video file, what are its properties?

When you finally hit the Burn button a blue bar shows the progress.
If your video file is a compatible DVD Mpeg2 file the process will start with Create Menu.
If it starts with Concert Title then your video is being re-coded, using the settings under the “Options” cogwheel.

What do you see?

Note :-
To save on a disc choose to create a Disc Image of DVD Folder, the process will continue the same as burning a disc.

Hi,

Thank you for your replies.

I have the VS X3 trial version - but my understanding is that this is a fully functioning trial. However, I will download Movie Factory and see how that goes.

Iused the "Legacy" template with the roses and greenish overlay. Used my own background, but otherwise didn't make any changes.
On that note - how does one edit the "snow fall" effect? I wanted to remove it.

Thanks again for your help

Yes it is a fully functional, however it does not have all the features. You will not be able to access the free version (DVD MF7SE). That's reserved for those that have purchased and registered the program. You could however download and try out the full blown version of DVD MovieFactory 7 Pro.. http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... bview=tab6

There's no way to remove the snowfall effect from that menu. DVD Factory 2010 Pro, does not provide much editing latitude. You kind of take what you get..;)
