SmartSound Quicktracks 5 Cant find .MSI

Post by florian00777 »

Hello

When i want to add music i go to the music tab and select ''Auto Music'' then at once it starts a Installer and Asks for a Msi file .

this is the Exact Discription of the Installer

''(World with 2 Comps connecting , means internet) The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable

Click OK to try again , or enter a alternate path to a folder containing the installation package ''SmartSound Quicktracks 5.msi'' in the box below ''

Use Source:
c:\documents and settings\f\local settings\temp\corel videostudio pro x3\13.0\cds\runtime\quicktracks5installer\''

When i press OK it says the same thing in the first sentence , and now i cant even acces the Music ...
Please help

And when canceled it says : Error 1706 ...

Regards And Thanks ,

That error is when you've installed from some form of removable drive, and now it can't find it. Did you purchase the ESD (download) or Boxed version of VS X3? If you have the disc, try putting it in the drive and see if that helps. Also are you connected to the internet? SmartSound does retrieve updates from the internet. If you have the installation files on a thumb-drive or other external hard drive, make sure they are plugged-in/connected AND your OS has not changed the path to them.

Use Source:
c:\documents and settings\f\local settings\temp\corel videostudio pro x3\13.0\cds\runtime\quicktracks5installer\
That is where the file is suppose to be, it's where the program placed it when you installed the program. I see one major problem.. in that path the folder called temp. That is just what it says, a temporary storage folder. Somehow it must have been deleted, like when you clean out temp files. I know I clear mine out quite often. Check that Temp folder and see if it even has any thing listed to its right (corel videostudio pro x3\....ect.. IF not you might have to reinstall the program or try doing a repair install. I checked my VS X3 ESD file, and there's no way that I can find to unpack it. If that was possible then you might be able to find the installer that way.

Hi

As far as I know Corel X2 and X3 do not provide a “Repair” option.
If you try to run the programs installation it will prompt you to un-install.

Also the installation files saved to the Temp folder would normally be deleted after the installation of the program.
Although you could make a copy of this folder before the completion of the installation.

Have you installed the patches for Video Studio VSProX3_Patch.exe
There is also an update to Smart Sound the file is called VSX3_SS_Patch.exe.

Otherwise I think you may have to un-install the whole program.
