Which one should I select from two options "Straight to DVD -Video or DVD+VR" or "Straight to DVD -VR"......I am using DVD -R Disc to be copied directly from VCR via VHS Tape?

VR is used in DVD recorders and allows the recording to be stopped and restarted multiple times. Downside is only the recorder will be able to read it. DVD-Video is usually used for most video projects.

Hi,
The -VR mode is an "EDITABLE MODE" recording spec.
You use DVD-RW to record on. (Same format as DVD-Ram).
The -VR format uses "Playlists".
When you record a video(s) in the -VR format one can edit the
video and playlists. So you can actually cut/add footage.
The -VR format is written onto DVD-RW media.

When you record a video(s) in the +VR format one can edit the
dvd menus etc but not the video. You can delete the whole video
or add a whole video onto a +VR disk.
The +VR format is written onto DVD+RW media.

You can play these disks back on the computer using PowerDvd,
Windvd etc.
You can also play these disks back in any "panasonic" multiformat
dvd player. (Any newer unit that says "Multi-Format")
Either format doesn't matter.

That is the newer "Multi-Format" marking on the newer dvd players.

Hope this helps,

MD
