How do I cut off areas of overlapping objects?

Post by Alemond1 »

This has likely been posted before and I apologize...but...

How can I cut the overlap off objects that are within another object?

To explain, lets say I have a square object overlayed with a triangle. I want to eliminate the parts of the triangle that exceed the square's borders...while leaving the remainder of the triangle within the square.

Thanks!

If the triangle and square are on separate layers, just delete the layer. If they are merged onto the canvas then the only way you can do it is by erasing the parts you don't want, or use the extract feature.
