Apparently you can just buy the "bonus pack" and be done with it. There's a video tour at the link for the Painter Essentials 4.

They would be giving Painter Essentials ( I was upgraded to it for free when I called Corel and complained that Painter Photo Essntials would not load in Win 7)
Painter Photo Essentials is non functional in Win 7.
Don't get your hopes up on Painter Essentials either while it has more functions, I cannot load the new patch it is telling me is available! !
Corel is really starting to P**S me off!!!

I just had a look at the links and there are absolutely no new features or enhancements in "Ultimate"
The RAW LAB is not any different than before and the entire program while touted as fully compatable with Win 7 is still only 32 bit.
Smart Carver,Batch RAW,Object Extracter and all the others were already in X3
The only thing "new" is the extras and I certainly don't need those rediculous KPT filters for serious photo editing! This time I'm not falling for the BS.
I won't even bother to take X3 off my home machine and load it on the new system.
Sorry Corel I'm jumping ship.

Is Corel "still" working on fixing the current problems in the original PSPX3?

Everytime I called after the second patch was released they told me directly, or vaguely hinted at, a third patch that is in the works.

If nothing has been improved in the Ultimate edition and all you get are those few extras then my guess would be that the Ultimate edition and the regular edition will both be getting the new patch sometime. Otherwise....I haven't a clue.

Okay so, thanks to df who posted the links we already knew that the special deal for current X3 owners was the combo pack.

I contacted Corel directly and they assure me that the only difference is the combo pack. The actual program is not improved you're not buying the patch. Nothing has changed. So it's exactly as it appears. Go figure.

And at that price, I might go for it. If they aren't actually ripping me off and offering a good packaged deal might be worth it. Well, at least for those of us who can't afford Photoshop. ;D

Wish Adobe would just get back to me on my inquiry about the academic license. I mean seriously they require you to buy the program and apply for the license. I'm not spending $200 on a program I may not get the license for.

Hi to all

To make it clear: the PSPPX3 version in the Ultimate package is the same as the single packet was before including the unsolved bugs. It's the latest version with latest SP.

Differences are only the additional content:

When PSPPX2 Ultimate came out, many customers asked for the Painter Essentials full version. Therefore the X3 Ultimate comes with Painter Essentials (including drawing tab).
The 24 KPT filters are nice and the same as in DrawX5.
If you live in Europe, the WebsiteX5 program is in the X3 Ultimate package. This is an excellent simple working program to create your own website. I myself tested it and not only that it's easy to create webpages, the result is excellent if you look at the HTML code.
Other continents have got other programs in.

For the Europeans:
:!: If you are neither interested in drawing paintings nor creating a website in a simple way or getting 24 KPT-filters, then you don't need the X3 Ultimate. :!:

"For the Europeans"? Seems like advice for all current X3 users.

Other continents have different additional content. I can only speak for the European customers. I remember very well when X2 Ultimate came out and many X2 users bought the £23/€30 upgrade and noticed surprisingly that nothing had changed in X2 itself. That wasn't even the case (as far as I remember correctly), because X2 Ultimate had 1 additional feature, the extractor tool as plug-in. But they had expected a complete different version.

The differences are:

PSPPX3: PSPPX3, Painter Photo Essential 4 (with the photo tab only), Project Creator

PSPPX3 Ultimate: PSPPX3 as it is, Painter Essential 4 (full version), Project Creator, 24 KPT Filter as plugin for PSPPX3 (only), WebsiteX5 (by Incomedia as SE version)

Yes but the advice itself is not continent specific now is it? If the program itself doesn't change only what is included does, then it stands to reason that if you don't need or want the extras then don't consider upgrading. That's all I was saying.

For example I got WinZip (still prefer 7-zip) a long with Project Creator, KPT, and Paint Essentials 4. But no website creation. However, the advice that if I don't want it or need I shouldn't get it still applies does it not?

Or to put it simply. If you don't want/need the extras included with your version of X3 ultimate, then don't get it.

I've wanted the KPT Collection for some time. And I never got around to upgrading my WinZip 12 to V14.5. I figured I was more than willing to pay $20 for the KPT Collection and an upgrade to WinZip 14.5 was going to be $15 if I upgraded directly with them. So around $35 (knowing someone will probably come up with an even better discount within a week or two) was the price I was willing to "upgrade" for. I already own Painter Essentials 4. Already have the Project Creator. But I was not getting the Corel newsletter. So with a $15 one time discount for signing up for the newsletter the "upgrade" price came to just under $35. Since I can use the KPT collection with Photoshop Elements 8 as well as with PSP X3, it was a good deal for me. I certainly would have been happier if Corel had released an actual update to PSP X3 along with this "Ultimate" update, but I'm happy with the KPT Collection for now.

@LeviFiction
You are so right. Of course, it depends for all versions and their additional content in each continent. :)

Didn't see this posted yet...

I received an email this morning which informed me that....

Corel has added another Extra to the Ultimate package...

Magic Bullet PhotoLooks 1.1

http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... d=88978567

I called Customer service this morning to see if this was available to those of us who had already purchased the bonus package, but before I even had a chance to ask my question, the person I was speaking with accessed my account and then told me he would send me out an email with the link and serial number I needed to download the program. Ten minutes later the program was installed and up and running on my system.

Don't know how much I will use the actual program, I have other filters and programs that do similar things, but it was nice to not have to feel it necessary to make a case for why folks who had already purchased the bonus upgrade package should be allowed to access this new add-on. Apparently Corel had already decided this was the way they were going to do it. :)
