Using the Menus installed from the 'Get more' link

Post by Simbz »

Hi there!

Apologies if I have posted this question in the wrong spot...but I used the 'Get More' link earlier today in Movie Factory 7 SE, and installed a whole heap of new menus, but none of them are appearing in the list of menus available when I am trying to create a DVD (I purchased Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 recently and have installed Movie Factory 7 SE through one of the updates in VideoStudio).

Does anyone know how to get these menus to appear in Movie Factory? So far here's what I have available to me:
- 11 Smart Scene menus
- 8 Text menus
- 15 Thumbnail menus

And, also something which is really frustrating me - how on earth do I change the little video that appears on the menu?? I have tried double clicking on the actual thumbnail in the story board section, and then that takes me to the 'Edit room', where I thought simply moving the slider along to the scene I wanted as the intro, would be enough...but it keeps reverting back to the very first scene of the video. Is there a way of having a few photos scroll through as the 'intro video' instead?

Any advice would be much appreciated!!

Thanks in advance :)

P.S: I just found a whole bunch of folders in c:\programdata\corel\downloads as well....but how do I get these menus to come up in Movie Factory :? I was able to find these menus (I think..) in Video Studio Pro X3 when I clicked on the 'Instant project' icon...but I want to use them in MF.

I have a question and some information but no direct answer:

First, where do you see this "Get More" link? Mine does not have that.

Second...about menus...

Menu files have the extension ".ufo" so a happy birthday menu may be named "happybday.ufo". Do you have access to these ufo files? Are they in the download folders you described? These files should be placed in your Moviefactory 7 directory under "content\menu template\" and then whichever dimension the menu is, either 16X9 or 4x3. So for instance, I think most people install to this folder:

C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel MovieFactory 7\Corel DVD MovieFactory 7\Content\Menu Template

Hopefully your the download folder you described already has the correct folders so you can just copy the 16x9 or 4x3 or even better yet, the "menu template" folder over to the corresponding folder in your corel install directory.
