Hi Ian

Look on the brighter side, you have managed to get past 15%.

As Jeff says, you can split the project, basically deleting half of it.

There is another option by using the Project Preview Range. (the Dreaded Red Line)
This selects part of the project, recognised by a Red Line.
When you Share Create Video File
The Create Video File window has an Options button, you can choose to render Preview Range.

I have a new guide to this option here:-

Ian,

Duplicate the error message and the check the Windows Event Viewer to see what the error message states.

Accessing Windows XP Event Viewer:

Click "Start" | "Control Panel" | Switch to view to Classic View if needed | Located and open "Administrative Tools" | Open "Event Viewer" | Select "Application" |

Scroll through the data (using the date and time) and look for the error that you have just created and double click on it, you should see under description something like as per the following:

Faulting application name: vstudio.exe, version: 13.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4bd90870
Faulting module name: CoreAudioToolBox.dll

The two things we need to verify are 1- the Application Name and 2- the faulting module, Once you have this copy and post the error description and I might be able to find out what is causing the issue.

From the list of files that you have sent, you stated that you have a VSP file in the Video Track, I would recommend opening the VSP file and rendering it to MPEG2 and then insert into the project removing the VSP file.

In regards to the music you have inserted into the project did you add any from iTunes and if so how did you export it from iTunes?

1.I've just returned from abroad. Thank you for your information.
2. I saw in the manual an option "Repair VideoStudio". On the basis that if there was nothing to repair then nothing untoward would happen i ran that option. This returned the error message "Error 1620: This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify this is a valid Windows Installer program."
3. Does this indicate that the actual VideoStudio program has been corrupted?
4. If "Yes" is the next action to uninstall and reinstall the program? If so will this involve re-linking all the clips or anything?
5. If the error message is not significant then I assume the route is to divide up the project as you recommended.

Thank you again for your anticipated help.

How are you re-installing?
- Are you using a disc or a download?

This does not have to do with the actual install of VideoStudio but the source of the installation files or the Windows Installer.

Try updating the Windows installer to the latest one:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/d ... laylang=en

If you are installing from the disc, try copying the contents of the disc to the hard drive. Once the disc is copied over run the Setup.exe from the hard drive.

First my apologies for a slow response to your suggestions. I've just been diagnosed with cancer and having to travel daily for radio therapy leaves very little time for other things.
Rob: I will be using a disk to re-install the VideoStudio Pro X2 Ultimate program. However, I had not yet attempted to do so but had tried the "Repair" option as I mentioned. Have you any thoughts on the error message it returned and do you think it could possibly have any connection with the original problem I had attempting to burn the project?

I would appreciate your thoughts.
Many thanks,
Ian
