I have just installed VideoStudio Pro X3 on my PC. When I start up the program I get the following error message
USER ACCOUNT CONTROL
Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer
Program Name: Corel
Verified Publisher: Corel Corporation
File Origin: Hard drive on this computer
Then there is a YES or NO option.
If i click on YES the program starts & seems to work OK.
None of the other installed programs cause this message to pop up when started.
Can anyone tell me why I am getting it & how can I resolve it?
Thanks for your help

Re: User Account Control notice on start up
Hi Trevor
Thanks for doing that search. I did find thse messages before I posted my query but they are not quite the same as my issue. The User Account Control query pops up when I start the program but when I click YES it goes on to work fine. At least it appears to so far.

Re: User Account Control notice on start up
Are you running it with a user account that has admin privileges? You can try right-clicking on the desktop short-cut, or the Start menu program file that launches VS, select Properties. Then in the Properties dialog window, go to the Compatibility tab, and down at the bottom, check the box for Run this program as an administrator.
I've never had UAC interfere when running VS. When you installed the program, did you do so with an Administrative account?

It's a long time since I've seen that message - but do I remember a check box towards the bottom which says something like -"Always allow this programme to make changes" - is there something like that that needs a tick ?

Thanks Ron!
The Run As Administrator box was ticked so I unticked it & this seems the have solved the problem
Cheers
