dvd-r not recognised

VS8 says that the drive is empty when I use a DVD-R but it works fine if I use a DVD+RW

I have other editing software installed (like Cyberlink and Nero) but I do not have INCD

What DVD writer are you using? Not all DVD burners will do DVD-R.

it's an LG but it's OK because I burn no problem with Nero and Cyberlink

Did you download the burning engine update from Ulead's website?

yep, installed all patches including 16x burning pack, burning engine update and the burning pack
