ULead File Format Mismatch 16803:1:2

Post by Jan1954 »

I reviewed the above error message answers in the forum. But nothing is quite what I have.

I purchased a new computer.

I copied the files over. I opened Ulead and tried to open the project I was working on. So it wanted me to Relink, which I did. But I got the error message: File format mismatch [16803:1:2] I checked the Smart Proxy, based on a forum discussion, and it is off.

So I copied the files back to the old computer. I can open up the project with no problems.

Help

Hi Jan

When you receive the re-link notification, make a note of the actual file you are looking for.
The re-link window also shows the file at the top. It will probably be a video file, it should be the first in the timeline, and you know what that is by viewing the old pc.

Make sure you are linking to the correct file.

Trevor,

It seems like there is only one file to link to in that directory. I will try what you recommended and see what I come up with. I'll get back to you soon.

Thanks a bunch,

Jan

I gave up and edited the video on the old computer. Then created the DVD. Oh well. I will have the old computer forever!

Your new computer would appear to be Windows 7.
What was your old computer?
Some video formats that worked on Windows XP do not work on Vista or Windows 7 thanks to Micro$oft.

I'll add to what Steve pointed out.....

Until recently I didn't think about this type of an issue. I was working on a project, and wanted to create a WMV file using one of the profiles that WME 9 series provides. On my XP machine they are all there, however I was working on my laptop which uses Vista. Those profiles were missing and I thought something went wrong with VS. I went looking for answers and learned that the WME 9 series does not work on Vista or Win7 machines. Not satisfied with that answer, I tried installing, reinstalling WME 9 and they're right, or I'm just forgetting how to get it run on Vista. So Micro$oft can really screw things up for programs..

WMV strangeness;

I run VSX2 (WME 9) within Vista, which originally had a total of 46 wmv profiles available within VS.

This number however was a minimum as user created profiles can also be added to VS using “WM Profile editor”.

Ok, chalk this up to strange computer behavior. Since my above post, I've done zilch, nothing to it. I decided to check one more time to see if I had all the profiles for WM9E. To my surprise there they are. I checked all the versions I have installed, and they all are showing the profiles.
