DVD Movie Factory 7 se

Post by loyola »

I was previously a fairly happy user of Ulead DVD Studio 2, but since upgrading to Windows 7 and having a few errors, decided to try something newer. So I downloaded DVD Movie Factory 7 se.

The transition effects all look very nice, but having to work from the templates seems incredibly restrictive. I don't seem to be able to find options to do the following things I could do in DVD Studio 2.

1 Adapt a template into my own design by creating the menus I want and linking to them via the playlist options of buttons and text.

2 Specifically add a decoration eg a gif file, and use it as a button with it's own playlist to link to another menu or titles playlist.

3 Actually delete (rather than hide) elements in the templates I don't want.

All I am trying to do is have a main menu, and fom this link to a menu that allows specific scenes, and another menu for special features - pretty basic stuff but I can't find a template that does this.

I have tried looking for guides and tutorials but can't find anything for version 7. Is it just me, or can someone put me out of my misery and tell me to give up and chose another more flexible product?

Thanks

By Ulead Studio 2 I'm guessing you mean DVD Workshop 2. If so, do not try to compare DVD MovieFactory 7SE or even the full version to DVD WS2. As you're fully aware, DVD WS2 was a very powerful, Professional DVD authoring program. Since then Corel has limited the DVD authoring to a very simplistic, "template-based" program.
