Re: Pan + Zoom VS 11+
Hi Ken
Customise Pan and Zoom
1 / Add three more keyframes at equal distances (five in all)
Select the 1st keyframe-highlighted in red (VS10)
Set the zoom to 100.
Using the 9 coloured anchor squares, select the centre one, this positions the keyframe.
2 / Select the 2nd keyframe,
Set the zoom to 400ish, depending on how much you need.
Hit one of the 9 coloured buttons, to move away from centre.
Now drag red curser to position over face.
3 / Select the 1st Keyframe, right click and Copy
Select the middle 3rd keyframe, right click and paste will set this same as first (full screen-in middle)
Select the last 5th keyframe, right click and paste will set this same as first (full screen-in middle)
4 / Select the 4th Keyframe set zoom to 400 ish
Press a coloured anchor to move keyframe from centre, then drag to position.
Clear as mud.
If your still struggling E-mail the image and I will create a vsp sample.

Re: Pan + Zoom VS 11+
I'm curious if Ken is getting the same problem I'm seeing.. The P-Z after going back to full image (100%) from zooming in on first face, then proceeds to zoom back into the first face, then suddenly changes to the 2nd face, and zooms back out to 100%... Strange behavior, that is the same in both VS 11.5+ and VS X2.

Hi Ron
I see what you mean
Change the location of the centre keyframe-a little- so its not directly above the first and last keyframe.

Re: Pan + Zoom VS 11+
Thanks for the help men, great! just the info I wanted. For my (and any one else''s ) future reference here is the workflow I used. Please let me have any comments that would be of use if it could be improved. This is to do as above re pan+ zooming
1 Place image in timeline
2 Drag Pan+ Zoom Filter onto image
3 Move jog slider along timeline, add keyframe by clicking on the "+" add icon, the diamond now shows red.Repeat twice more, all equally spaced. So there are now 5 in all (including 1st and 5th) all equally spaced apart.
4 Select 1st keyframe and set the zoom slider(bottom right) to 100%
5 Select centre box to position key frame
6 Select 2nd keyframe Set zoom to 300 (lowering this number seems to reduce it being too fuzzy )
7 select middle left square
8 drag red + over face on the left
9 Select 1st keyframe right click- copy
10 Select 3rd (middle) keyframe---right click-paste.This will set this the same as the 1st key frame
(full screen middle)
11 Select 4th keyframe. Set zoom to 300.
12 Click on middle right square
13 Drag red + to show face on the right
14 Click OK
15 Return to this fantastic forum for further help if like me you were unable to sort what seems a simple problem after being given advice by members who kindly gave their time

Re: Pan + Zoom VS 11+
I want to replicate the above workflow when the 2 people are not alone but part of a crowd, that is zoom into the left face, zoom out then in onto the face on the right.I have tried the above method and after item 6 (selecting 2nd K/frame) I tried this :-
1 I selected the face on the left via the marquee box then clicked on the centre left box, the preview screen then changed to another area on the left.
2 The red + now shows on that area
3 A dotted straight line with a loop beneath it now shows on the left screen connecting that area and the white + showing well beneath the face of the person on the left.
So, what am I doing wrong here and what is the purpose of the white +

Re: Pan + Zoom VS 11+
The color difference in the +, White is a un-selected keyframe, Red is the selected keyframe.

Re: Pan + Zoom VS 11+
Hi Ken
When customising Pan & Zoom as you know we can add Keyframes
Each Keyframe being represented by the cross on the preview window.
Only one of these crosses being highlighted in red, corresponding to the red keyframe on the timeline also in red.
Adding keyframes usually ends up with a bunch of crosses in the middle of the screen, we can select these on the preview screen but sometimes is a little tricky, we can be separated the crosses a little by using the 9 square anchor points. Making them easier to reposition. You may find it best to re-size/ zoom-in hit one of the 9 squares then drag to reposition.
You can navigate to each keyframe using the small arrow on either end of the lower timeline/track. The upper track shows the curser position.
