MF4 - Audio problems

Post by Duncan_Macdonald »

MF4 (not Disc Creator) is giving me the following error message

Code: Select all

All or part of the audio data in the MPEG file is not compatible with this program
I imported a number of clips from a DVD-VR disk produced by a Liteon 5045 HDD/DVD recorder, trimmed them and added a simple menu (no motion). The input format was in high quality PAL (max of 9450kbps) with 2 channel Dolby Digital. The output was set to be DVD-Video with the same settings (9450kbps and 2 channel Dolby Digital). The required disk space was stated to be 3.91GB by the program (of the 4.38GB available on the disk). On attempting to burn the DVD I get the above message after it has spent several minutes converting the video data.
If I try to only produce the disk image (.iso file) I do not get an error message but no output file is produced.

System spec Athlon FX-53, 1GB memory, 110GB free disk space, Win XP Pro (with SP2), NTFS file system, NEC ND3500 DVD drive
The input clips have the following attributes (from inside MF4)
PAL DVD, MPEG-2 Video, Upper Field First, 24 Bits, 720x576, 4:3
25 frames/sec, Variable bit rate (Max 9450 kbps)
Audio type: Dolby Digital Audio, 48000Hz, 256kbps.
The project settings were set to be the same and the "Do not convert compliant MPEG files" option was selected.

>MF4 (not Disc Creator)

As to my knowledge only the "Disc Creator" version is capable of
producing the "Dolby Audio".

Do you have the dolby audio add-on pack or something?
Before trying to burn a dvd try Exporting the Video's and
see what the properties of the video's you EDITED are.
You only need to export the video you edited.
It will be changed to the project properties so when you export
the video make the "Video's Properites" the same as your using
for the "Project Properties" in MF4.
Then using a software player like "Power DVd" observe the properties
of the video & audio tracks during playback.
