Hi everyone,
Is there a way to program pauses into a video clip. I have a video I need to pause 7 or 8 times while it plays. I can split the video into different clips and do it, but would rather not have do deal with it. The video was provided to me on DVD as one clip and I can import it into DVD workshop easily.
Thanks
Possible to program pause in video?
Maybe... You can't stop (or pause) at the end of a chapter, but you could make 7 or 8 seperate "titles." (I suppose that's what you meant by "clips") You could then "take control" of the titles using a playlist (linked to a menu button).
You don't have to make separate clips first. You can drag-in the same full-video multiple times, and select different trim points for each title.
Depending on what you mean by "pause", you could bring-up a menu, or play a still image for a fixed time before continuing to the next segment.

DWS doesn't let you do it, but other software will let you pause at the end of a chapter (using the chapter Cell's "Still" setting). Or using Chapter Playlists (where you wouldn't have to cut up your one long video.
If you are familiar with tools like IFOEdit and PGCEdit, you can burn the DVD to your hard drive, and simply set the pause manually for each chapter you want...
Or, as mentioned, you can do the separate Titles (cut up your one long video into several pieces, and control playback via Playlists).
