Confused Newbie

Post by computermike »

Just downloaded Paint Shop Photo Pro X3. I'm a little confused, is this the newest version of Paint Shop Pro? I don't see any topics in this Forum labeled PaintShop Photo Pro X3? I don't see any topics labeled Paint Shop Photo Pro X3. Where do I find info on this product? Please help.

Also, I was trying to create Chrome effect and apply it to text. I found a couple of tutorials on line, but could never complete cause I could never find various form controls mentioned in the tutorial (checkbox, textbox, dropdown, etc) they mention. I tried using the chrome effect but it looks nothing like chrome.

Thanks,

Mike

Welcome to the forums ... though I rather surprised by your confusion. When I look at the full Board Index, Paint Shop Pro is the fourth one from the top, right under Video Studio -- and the second in the 'Popular Products' category...

Welcome Mike - reading your post I wonder if your confusion is due to the fact that you do not appear to understand what this particular website is all about - you mention not finding info - this forum is not so much about finding info on the productd but more about solving problems and showing you the way to do what you want with the product. It is a user to user forum where users of the product answer questions from other users who are either having problems or can't find the way to acheive the action they require, and although the forum is hosted by Corel none of us posting on here actually work for Corel - if you look at our various locations you will see that we are dotted all over the world.

So if as you say there is an effect you cannot acheive in Paint Shop pro (any version) post your question/problem in the Paint ShopPro forum and other users will try and point you in the right direction

Thank you for your welcome, am glad to be here and learn and contribute.

The phrase or text "Paint Shop Pro" is not the same as the text "Paint Shop Photo Pro X3". I was confused because of the extra word "Photo" in the title, and the "X3", although I assume the X3 is a version number. I think the fact that I could not follow some of the tutorials made me think that I might possably be using a different product.

From here on out I am assuming "Paint Shop Photo Pro X3" is the latest version of Paint Shop Pro.

Yes, I belong to ASP.NET forums, several SQL forums, a mustang forum and a few classic car forums; they all tend to work the same.

Thanks again for your replies. Please bear with this newbie, this is first time using any kind of graphics software.

Mike
