I'd like to say some kind words about our moderators on this forum. I have noticed that they play a very active role in helping out, and some times appear to more like customer support for Corel. Their replies are insightful, helpful, and always polite. When people, like me, say stupid things, they don't put us down but are encouraging. For this reason, it is a pleasant exercise to browse the forum to see the problems and typically see the solutions too. Elsewhere there is a lot of name calling and slamming, but here it is civilized and courteous. Thank you.
I'd also like to say a few nice words about VideoStudio. I am a recent convert. Unfortunately I was initially quite dismayed because the guidance offered by Corel is minimal (how much would it cost to pay some informed user to write a better manual that actually provides some detail?). Luckily, this forum has helped out a lot with this. But, as others have noted, VideoStudio has an enormous wealth of capability inside it. I am discovering this as I explore the program more and more. Yes, there is room for improvement (more control on menus coupled with an intuitive interface is the obvious one). But there's a tremendous lot one can do with a very cheap program. And for me, at least, I've had no fatal crashes, weird problems, or other aggravating issues. Instead, I have rapidly produced some short movies without any cursing. I look forward to exploring and using some of the finer points as I get more experienced with it. So a thank you to Corel too.
Praise for moderators

Re: Praise for moderators
I think I can speak for the other mods when I say "Thanks!
". As most people know, none of us are paid by Corel for what we do. We are all users like you. Our only differences are experience, willingness to help, and the time to do so. When I was researching video editing apps some years ago, this forum was actually what tilted my decision in VideoStudio's favor. And without this forum I don't know that VS would have survived....

Re: Praise for moderators
I would like to strongly second MikeA's comment. I think VS is a great product, and the best in its category, but without this forum I would have been forced to abandon it (and any hopes of serious video editing) years ago. I've come here time and again when technical glitches had stopped me cold, and found answers by searching the posts and sometimes asking questions. Plus, I've found a lot of information here that just made VS a lot more FUN and interesting to use. The enormous contribution in time and expertise that the moderators and administrator have put into both keeping the forum up and helping members solve problems year after year is something I'm profoundly grateful for, and Corel should be thanking their lucky stars for!!

Re: Praise for moderators
Not to be redundant, I will just reference the movie "Ghost" and say "ditto" to all of the accolades.
Thanks to all!
